Bibme: AutoFill Your Bibliogrpahies Quick, Easy, and Free

21 October 2007 One Comment

We’ve covered a couple of options for making the process of filling out a bibliography easier, Easybib and Ottobib. Both of these have some excellent features such as a wide range of media types, ISBN search, etc… These services are great for students needing to do bibliographies quickly and in the proper format. But if you’re wanting some of the advanced features such as autofill-a service that automatically fills in the proper fields with information from a database-you often have to shell out some cash. Bibme appears to do this for free. Let’s take a look at it.

Bibme offers the popular media types such as books, movies, magazines, websites, newspapers, and journals. This is something the other sites do as well, but Bibme offers the ability to enter it in automatically with a quick search through their databases. I did a quick search for a couple books in my library and it gave me multiple editions to choose from and ability for it to autofill this information for me.

The service offers the ability to save your results(up to 10) and export them to just about any type of word processor. Here is a quick rundown of how Bibme says they stack up against the competition.
