Next year my school will start the process of moving to Infinite Campus. It won’t be an easy switch, as it seems that we still have to do training for the old system quite frequently. For the tech-savvy, it looks to be an incredible leap forward, but for the rest it could make for a rough ride in the beginning. To help out, I’ve found an incredible resource of tutorials and tips on the District 300’s website. It has all of their resources broken down and listed in a nice and orderly fashion, and some useful tips to add to the punch. Check it out here.

I am curious about how to post assignments for parents to view for their student. I heard IC has they ability to email grade updates to parents too. We began IC last year and our tech dept has only gotten about 2 % of our parents using the portal.
Have others assigned temporary passwords to ALL parents and had them change their infor after logging on?
From what I understand, each parent is assigned an access key. When they enter it in the first time they can set up their own username and password. Seems like it would just be a matter of getting the keys in the hands of the parents.
As for sending plans, grades, etc.. from IC to an external email(outside the parent portal), I’m not sure(my school hasn’t started using it yet). It appears all contact happens through the parent portal.
